Celebrating 150 Years

2023 marked our 150th year serving and worshipping in the Walla Walla community. During our Anniversary Celebration, we were led in “Remembering for Renewal” by Rev. Dr. Jennifer Powell McNutt.

Walla Walla Presbyterian Church

1970 - The Christiand Education building was dedicated.

2008 - Our sanctuary was renovated and stained glass windows preserved.

2022 - New Atrium complete with elevator for access to all floor levels of the church.

Our Beginnings to the Present and Moving Forward

1873 - Cumberland Presbyterian Church services were held at the Courthouse at Third and Alder and at the Opera House on Main Street. The church building was constructed in 1876 at the cornier of Third and Poplar.

1880 - First Presbyterian Church purchased the lot at the northeast corner of First and Birch. Construction began in 1883.

1902 - The lot at the southeast corner of First and Birch was purchased.

1907 - The Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church officially joined and became one.

1912 - Our church building was built.

1915 - The church was dedicated after the Pipe Organ was installed

Rev. Albert Gillin, Pastor & Head of Staff has been serving WWPC for over 20 years. Albert is an involved community member of Walla Walla. He leads WWPC with integrity and enthusiasm.
